Education is a Right, Not a Privilege
About this event: 4th World Youth Congress - Quebec City 2008

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Any responsible and sensible government must commit to the promotion of education of its citizenry at all cost.It is trite saying and true, that the educated are easier to govern and difficult to enslave. It therefore goes without gainsaying that any government which hoards education for its ordinarary citizen wants to resuscitate the evil of slavery and it is inhuman treatment to man.

Young people have a right to education as a justiciable right. African governments should wake up and think right by investing in the human mind - in the young generation because that is only the hope of the continent. They shold take a cue from Scandinavia Europe and the rest of civilised world and do what is right.

Education is a right and not a privilege.

Education is of general benefits both the country and the individual, down to the respective communities.
